University of Delaware Swim meet

The Girls had another swim meet this weekend. Fortunatly for us it was much closer.
It was a fun meet but very long. Ceci had warm ups at 12:30 and swam until 3. Nicole had warm ups at 3 and swam until 6. A 6 hour swim meet. Long, hot and a sore tush.

Black Friday

Tom and I every year go out super early and do our Black Friday shopping. Well this year wasn't that big of a deal because the deals weren't so hot. But we still went out and got ALL of our Christmas shopping done.

All in all tom and I had a fun day together. And so did the girls. they slept over Grandma Polly's and then spent the morning shopping with her as well.

ThanksGiving

This week has been such a busy week. Painting, moving rooms around and getting ready for Gigi to get married and Mom to move in. But in all the chaos we all worked together.
Thanksgiving is such a great time to be thankful for all we have. I must say that I am so thankful for my family. Tom for being such a wonderful husband, Nicole for being such a great big sister, and Ceci for being a great little sister. As a family we have worked together so much and have accomplished so much. I am truly thankful for them everyday.

Painting the rooms

The girls and I have been organizing all week and now I have finally been able to start painting our bedroom. Fortunately we had left over paint from when we painted the house so that's what I used. I was a little scared when I first put up the paint but now I really like it. Now all we need is curtains and a new bathroom. I'll take pictures of the finished result tomorrow morning.

This room used to be the girls room. I'm not quite sure why we gave them the master bedroom with a walk in closet and bathroom. I finally got tired of this huge bedroom always being a mess, so one day I switched the rooms and in that commotion I never got around to painting the walls. The new color is what I would call Mushroom. Ceci and Brianna had such a fun time painting the walls. Ceci did the ABC's and Brianna just doodled.

So here are Nicole and Grandma painting what used to be the Playroom. Mom is moving in with us for a while. She and Gigi lived together in an apartment, but now that Gigi and Mike are getting married she decided to give them the apartment. We are very excited to have Mom / Grandma live with us.

We have been in our home for 3 1/2 yrs and we have never known what these light switches are attached to. Buying a home is always an adventure, but I seriously worried about these funky switches. Would there be a fire in my wall or am I opening the garage door and not even knowing it? Well today my questions were answered. tom figures it all out and now I don't have to walk all the way down to the garage to turn off the driveway lights and the front door light, now I can turn them off at the top of the steps. They are still funky, the red light goes on when the light are on, so at least you know when your light are on. Oh by the way the turquoise is what the whole house was painted in. Oh yes a wonderful color! and also flat paint, how could you paint something flat with kids? That would never last with our family.

Day Off From School

The girls have had off all week for Parent Teacher Conferences and Thanksgiving. We have spent this week so far cleaning out the playroom and I started organizing my closet and Laundry room, and Now will start painting my room.

Because we have been working and not really having fun, I let the girls sleep in until 9 this morning. When they woke up they smelled Yummy Cinnamon Buns, and Warm Hot Chocolate with extra Marshmallows.

Now I just have to start working to burn off those calories. Fortunately my girlfriend Toni and I went and worked out at 6am this morning and I burned enough calories to justify eating one of those. If it was only that easy to do and not just think that way.

Two Very Happy Little Girls

Swim Meet

The girls had a really fun swim meet today. But it was all the way up in York Pa. It took us 2 hrs to get their, 3 hrs at the meet and then a 2 hr. ride back. Nicole and Ceci swam really well. Ceci got her 1st First Place in Freestyle. Nicole helped her relay team come in 3rd when they were an entire lap behind! They have really enjoyed swim team this season and Tom and I are so glad that they are enjoying it as well. Kelly Holland swims on the Y team as well, so it was fun for Nicole and Ceci to be able to hang out with her at the meet.
