First Day of School.

Today was such a great day. The girls woke up on time, did everything as they were asked, and walked out the door on time. Just that makes it a great day!

Tom and I both took the girls to school. They were all smiles this morning, eager to meet their new teachers and friends.

Ceci starts school at 8 am. So she was the first to be dropped off to school. Still full od smiles. This year she has Mrs. Hackendorn. Nicole had her 2 years ago and Gigi had her 12 years ago. She is a wonderfull teacher and we look forward to having her again.

Nicole is attending Claymont Middle School. She is in 4th grade. I just can't believe she is this old. She has Ms. Morrow which is one of the Gifted teachers. She will be Nicoles home room teacher as well as her Math and Science teacher.

Nicole actually let us walk her in this morning.

So I attended Brandywine High School. In 1997 we were transfered to Claymont while our school was being renovated. The class of 97 painted this mural, which is in the main Lobby when you come into the building. It's pretty fun walking down the halls and remembering where my classes were and where my locker was.

I look forward to Nicole attending school there and hope she enjoys her new year.

As for Tom and I, we're getting older, no doubt about that, but we have enjoyed evrey bit of our girls. We look forward to whatever the year brings us.

Blue Crabs!

So Tommy went this morning crabbing with BJ at 4 am, and I stayed in bed.

They had a good time and caught a bushel of large crabs.

If any one wants crabs let us know. Tom always welcomes company out on the boat.

After crabbing we had Toms Aunt Gayle and Cousin Emily and his Mom Polly over for dinner.

Can I just say that we raised our girls wrong! They can never pass crabs, shrimp, lobster or any other seafood. Lucky them or Lucky us?

Young Womens

So today was my last Tuesday night activity with the Wilmington First Ward, after 3 1/2 years I had it coming (HaHa). Christine and I always joked arond saying that we would be in the young Womens Presidency untill our girls were coming in and THEN we would get released. But with all that I must say the I have truly enjoyed the girls, and have learned so much from them.
At first when I was called to be the Second Councilor I was a bit shocked. I was barly 7 years older than the Laurals, but the Lord knows what's best.
I also had the opportunity to work with wonderful women who are now good friends of mine.
I am very thankful for them and will miss working with them, but as one book closes another opens and now have been called to be the Second Councilor in the Relief Society.
I now have an opportunity to get to know another group of wondeful women. Lets see what life brings now.

Popham Fort

The fort is about 1 1/2 miles from the beach. Some of the fort is closed due to its safety.

It was still cool to see.

So after a long day at the beach and the fort the girls enjoyed an ice cream cone

(evidence on nicole cheek) and then they both passed out.

A nice and quiet car ride for Tom and me.

We all had a very fun day out in the sun.

Popham Beach

Popham Beach is so interesting. As the tides change the beach forms a huge Sand Bar. Nicole is crossing a sort of canal that the tide change formed. The current was so strong.

As we walked across the girls could hold onto us and their body would go with the current.

The water was about 60-65 degrees, so Tom says. I think it was colder. And the sand was so soft and barely any shells in the water.

If only the Delaware beaches were this way I could actually relax every time we go to the beach.

Ceci was swiming in the water.

The water was a sort of a rust orange.

We kind of think it is from some sort of mineral deposit.

The water was also not very salty.

Here we are walking across the Sand Bar to the Island in the distance. The island was full of sea weed, that Ceci took a great liking to. It was fun just walking acrossthe water and looking for little treasures in the sand.

As we were walking to the Island the two currents came together and formed this cool cris cross pattern.

Pemaquid Light House

One of the day trips we took was to Pemaquid Light house.

It was lots of fun walking on the rocks, and checking the little pools inbetween the rocks.

The light house also had a liitle museum and we made it 5 min. before it closed.

We then realized at that point that everything closes at the same time, so we made a dash to the rest rooms.

Walking around the light house grounds was nice and we enjoyed spending time with the family.
